Our vision is one of united, inclusive and resilient societies in which all people have a strong sense that what they have in common is stronger than what divides them and where support for the values of liberal democracy, and its institutions, is reinforced.
More in Common's mission is to connect people across lines of difference to build communities that are closer, more inclusive and more resilient.
More in Common is a new initiative, set up in 2017, that aims to protect democratic societies from the threats of polarisation, social division and authoritarian populism and the hatred that it spreads. We believe that the drivers of these threats are complex and that we need to work urgently at many levels to counter them.
More in Common has national hubs in the UK, US, France and Germany, and has published early findings from our first stages of work.
More in Common’s approach is to:
• Develop and deploy inclusive narratives that resonate with a ‘new majority’ that includes people in the 'conflicted middle' (as defined in our national opinion research).
• Connect people on a large scale across lines of difference to build communities that are closer, more inclusive and more resilient. For example, through the Great Get Together.
