Just a few days before the results of the second round of parliamentary elections in France, Le Monde is publishing an exclusive selection from our study Le Jour d'après (The Day After), which brings together contributions from leading figures and observers as populist right-wing governments came to power in Hungary, Poland, Italy, the United States and Brazil, as well as an analysis of the lessons to be learned in the wake of the Brexit vote in the United Kingdom. In this paper, Laurence de Nervaux, Director of Destin Commun, and Tristan Guerra, Head of Research, offer a summary of the major lessons to be learned for France from these different experiences.
